Character Race

Race

Characters can be of any of the following races:

Dwarf – In the Realms there are several different races of dwarves. Shield dwarves are the dwarves found in the part of the Realms the campaign takes place in. Shield dwarves are typical dwarves described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Elf – There are a number of different elven subraces in the Realms. The most common are Moon elves and Sun elves. Sun elves have bronze skin, hair of copper, gold, black or red color, green, golden, and silver, black, hazel or copper eyes. They are generally much rarer than any other elf type and also generally haughtier. Moon elves have pale skin, sometimes even chalk white with blue tinges, their hair is usually black, blue or silver, and their eyes are most commonly green or blue, frequently with gold flecks. Moon elves are more sociable than sun elves, less haughty, and more outgoing.

Gnome – There are several different races of gnomes in the Realms. Rock gnomes are the gnomes found in the part of the Realms the campaign takes place in. Rock gnomes are typical gnomes described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Half-elf – The overwhelming majority of half-elves are of moon elf descent, though more than a few are of gold elf descent. They are typical half-elves as described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Half-orc – Half-orcs are not all that uncommon in the Sword Coast and even more common in the Savage Frontier to the north. They are typical half-orcs as described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Halfling – There are several subraces of halfling in the Realms, with lightfoot halflings being most common in the part of the Realms the campaign takes place in. Lightfoot halflings are typical halflings described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Human – There are a plethora of human ethnicities in the Realms. In the part of the Realms the campaign takes place in, humans most likely will be either Illuskan or Tethyrian. Illuskans are tall, fair-skinned, with blue or gray eyes, with black, blond or red hair. They are boisterous and outgoing (think Vikings). Tethyrians are of medium build and height, with dusky skin, brown or black hair, and blue or green eyes (think Mediterranean cultures). Humans are otherwise typical humans as described in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

Other Races – You may be allowed to play a non-standard race with permission of the GM, however as Daggerford is a small town in a rural area, races that are “monstrous” in appearance would be run out of town. Any non-standard race would have to be able to pass as human, elf, dwarf, etc.
